Gorjuss Poppy Wood

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! Today I'm sharing a card with an old stamp, a Gorjuss Girl stamp! There are still some available in the store and I just love Gorjuss Girls

This Gorjuss Girl is Poppy Wood and I just felt the urge to combine watercolours and Copics to colour her. So I stamped her onto watercolour paper, did all the background using watercolours and I then coloured the stamp in Copics.

Skin: E0000, 000, 00, R20
Hair: C3, 5, 7, 9
Dress: C3, R35, 37, 39, 89
Socks: E81, 84, R35, 37, 39, 89

Thanks for stopping by, have a great Sunday! Hugs,

Winter's Night

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today with some Sunday inspiration. But first, to celebrate the reopening of the store, there are some fantastic special offers - at least 10% off everything, 40% off Whimsy Stamps, MFT are 25% off, Kraftin' Kimmie 20% off... A great time to go shopping:)!

For my card today, I have used a Gorjuss Girl stamp combined to a Make It Crafty background to make a winter card. I really like how adding just one background element can really "change" the image.

I stamped The Winter's Night Gorjuss Girl stamp onto Make It Colour Blending Card, masked it and then stamped a Make It Crafty Pine Tree from the Winter Backgrounds Collection (available as a Collection or as individual stamps) and coloured my image with Copics. I added a Greeting Farm sentiment from the Sparkling Season set and a Make It Crafty Chipboard - a Snowflake Star - covered in acrylic paint and stickles.

Copics used:
Sky: B34, 37, 39
Snow: C0, 1, 3
Tree: C0, 1, 3, G28, YG03, 17
Skin: E000, 00, 11, 23
Hair: C3, 5, 7, 9
Outfit: C5, 7, R35, 37, 39, 89, W5

Thank you very much for your visit, enjoy the rest of your day! Hugs

A better place with you!

Hello everyone!  Mary J here with my regular spot to show you a card I made with some of my current favourite goodies in the Quixotic Paperie store!  I've made this card for a very good friend of mine who is always there for me...

This lovely lady is Gorjuss - Poppy Wood who I stamped onto Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured in with my Copics.  I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Indie Chic Ginger paper pad and the sentiment is from the Stamping Bella - Uptown Girls - Felicity & Blair.  I also used lots of My Favorite Things Die-Namics - of course!

I'm off to start my weekend - woo hoo!  See you back here next Friday with another Quixotic Inspiration make!

Winter Wonderland & Christmas Week!

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today with a wintery card to announce the beginning of a special week at Quixotic Inspirations! We are having a Christmas themed week, with lots of Christmas inspiration AND yes, a giveaway to watch out for during the week!

To start the week, I thought I would make a scene and turn it into a present to someone...

My scene is coloured with Copics on Make It Colour Blending Card and features a Gorjuss Girl called Toadstools (I only kept the character) and Snowman With Scarf. For the background, I used elements from the new Make It Crafty Winter Backgrounds Collection - the bench is Winter Seat and the tree background was made with the Pine Trees stamps, a set of two different trees which you can combine as you want to create a forest.
I added a Whimsy Stamps sentiment from the Holiday Notables 2 Set and die cut the shape with my Shapeology Die - Snowflake Notables 2 and cut off the snowflakes to have the shape fit my scene.

That's all from me today! Don't forget to stop by again this week for more Christmas inspiration and watch out for the giveaway! Have a great Sunday! Hugs

Little Rabbit

Hello all! It's Delphine here today with another GDT card, featuring another Gorjuss Girl... I just had to, I love them too much!!!

This Gorjuss stamp is called I Love You Little Rabbit and I have used the example from the packaging for inspiration, keeping the same colour scheme, the stripes and corners. You can see it HERE! I stamped my image on Make It Colour Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink as always and coloured it with my Copics. I have kept my card very simple, only 2 pearls and my favourite chipboards for an elegant touch, Make It Crafty Swirly Corners and that's it!

Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely Sunday! Hugs

Gorjuss Love

Hello all! Well, it's Delphine posting here today, nervous but super excited, since I have the honour of being Guest Designer for September! I am really happy to be able to share a little card with you, thank you so so much for having me, Elaine:-)!

For my first card, I have decided to combine stamps I love...

The Gorjuss Girl I have used is called Poppy Wood and I thought it would be nice to have a tree behind her, so I added the Tree of Love by Make It Crafty. Both images have been coloured with Copics on Make It Colour Blending Card, the best and only paper I use with my markers.

No sentiment, just the heart on the tree and the heart button, supposed to say it all.
I hope you have enjoyed my little post, thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely Sunday!
Hugs

Making different sizes of rosettes using MFT Die-Namics

Happy Friday everyone!  Mary J here with a card using more Quixotic Paperie gorgossity!  I am also going to give you a little hint on how you can create different sized rosettes using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Rosette Die.  So first off, here is the card....

I love the whimsical Gorjuss girls - this one is called I Gave You My Heart.  I stamped her on my favourite Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured her with my Copics.  For the background papers I used My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Lavender pad and for the rosettes I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Honey pad.

Now about using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Rosette Die!  For my card I used the 1/4" Rosette Die.  To make the rosette you need to die cut two pieces of paper and do the usual thing of folding the creases concertina style.  Once you've put it together, the rosette will measure around 8.5cm (3.5 inches) in diameter.

To make smaller rosettes, simply die cut the two pieces as usual then then cut both pieces down their length either in half or whatever size you'd like, making sure you cut both pieces at the same measurement.  I use my guillotine to do this.  From the photo below you can see that I have now got two sets - I cut both pieces lengthways at 1.5cm...

You then glue the ends together to create your rosettes as usual - et voila!  Here's a selection I made ranging from 8.5cm to 3cm...

I hope that was useful - if you have any questions, leave me a comment on this post and I'll get back to you.  I'm off now - ttfn!

Alice: Sketched

Hi everyone :)  It's Sandie here and today I have another Gorjuss card to share with you. I used this month's sketch inspiration when creating my card. You can find out just how you could be in with a chance of winning a £15 voucher for Quixotic Paperie store right HERE

For my card today I coloured up Gorjuss Alice

My papers are from My Mind's Eye, Miss Caroline: Dolled Up.  I used both classic circle and scalloped circle nestabilities to create the shape of my card, and to cut out my design papers.

I tied some black and white bakers twine around the card front, securing it in a bow. Then I adhered some leaves and flowers on top of the twine.

You can find Alice and the rest of the Gorjuss girls HERE on the Quixotic Paperie store.
Thanks for dropping in!

What a mad, crazy, wonderful idea!

Hi all!  Mary J here and I hope everyone has been enjoying the unseasonably fabulous weather we have been having recently (well, it's been good in the UK!).  YAY!!  I'm in a good mood today!  Today I'm here with a card using one of the new Gorjuss stamps, called Alice from the gorgeous Quixotic Inspirations store...

Isn't she just lovely?  I just had to do some more colouring on Bazzill Basics Smoothies kraft cardstock and this time I used a mixture of Copics and Prismacolor pencils to try for a whimsical soft look.  I matched her up with papers from the Glitz Design French Kiss pad and the sentiment is from the Kraftin' Kimmie Alice Dormouse stamp set.  Lastly, I kept the embellishing to a minimum by using the Whimsy Shapeology Banner Pennants die set.  Here's a close up of the colouring...

That's it from me today!  See you next week!

Gorjuss Moleskines

Hi everyone, it's Sandie here today with a little something to share in the hopes that you'll find some inspiration ;)

I recently purchased some moleskine cahier journals to alter as a gifts. I stamped Gorjuss - Toadstools on the front of each journal with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with Copic Markers. I was afraid the copic ink would seep through the kraft but it didn't.

Then I stamped each of their names underneath the image and added 3 flat backed pearls and some ribbon to embellish.

This is my last post before Christmas so I would just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a heathly, happy & prosperous New Year.

Fox Gloves by Gorjuss

Morning my crafty readers!

How things??? Thanks for popping by. Today I have to share with you some gorgeous goodies from Quixotic Paperie.

I have stamped on kraft and coloured with pencils this beautiful wintry image from the Gorjuss range. It is called Fox Gloves. I really wanted to stamp onto kraft as you can really show the brilliance of the snow by colouring it with prisma pencils.  Once the image was coloured and I was happy with it, I then added tiny dabs of PVA glue wher I wanted some sparkle and covered it with some Glamour Dust.

The papers I have used are from a range from Bo Bunny that I purchased last year. I am commiting myself to not buying any more Christmas papers till I use up the mounds I have from last year and the year before that and maybe even the year before that!

I have also added a couple of Make It Crafty Chipboard Snowflakes which have been covered with Picket Fence Crackle Paint. Also, something I am delighted to have found, which is new to me...but may not be to all of you is Picket Fence Distress Stain!! Wow...I edged all of my papers with this! So quick and dries in an instant! Elaine if you are reading this....you REALLY need to stock this. It is perfect for the winter season

Thanks guys for stopping by today . I really appreciate your visit.

Have a wonderful day,

Judy

Gorjuss - Little Foxes!

Firstly my apologies for not having anything new to share with you today. It has been a crazy busy week behind the scenes chez moi.

So I thought I would go throught some of the back catologues and find you a card I made a while back!

This stamp continues to be one of my favourite stamps! It is so versatile. You can colour it to make a winter card or a spring/summer card. This is a newly re-released Gorjuss stamp and is called 'Little Foxes'.  It now comes with a few additional extra stamps so you can make a wee scene with it! Bargain!

This card is coloured entirely with prisma pencil and I have embellished it with some Tim Holtz goodies and some of my favourite Kraft cardstock which is available right here at Quixotic Paperie

Thanks for popping by!

Have a great weekend one and all!

Ruby , Ruby, Ruby......

Morning all!

Hope you are all well this fine morning!  I have a 'Gorjuss' new image 'Ruby' to share with you that you can get right here at Quixotic Paperie. Isn't she lovely?

She is coloured with copics and I have used prisma pencils to create the background around her. The camera seems to have washed that out quite a lot. It is a little less subtle in real life!

The papers I have used are Echo Park 'For The Record'. I have punched out a few flowers above her swing and then added an big adhesive flourish to bling it up!

The black flowers are a first for me and are made out of metal.
I bought a black metal sheet as I was hoping to make some grungy stuff but instead I used it to make some pretty flowers! They are punched out and then run thorough a spotty embossing floder. I then sanded them down so you would see the silver coming though. Then the metal is such a doddle to shape and bend! A new thing to my reptoire that I love :)

Watch this space for more metal flowers ....

Now I love this girl so much that I decided to frame her! I made her into a piece of art that will match the card and hopefully make someone a lovely gift !
So here they are both together :) Sorry the frame is so blurry...makes it look arty though eh???

A wee heads up for tomorrow that you don't want to miss...there is going to be a fab blog hop and stamp release from Carmen Medillin.

Have a great day!
Judy x
