Celebrate you

Hi everyone!  Mary J here with a card using those gorgeous Quixotic Paperies goodies!

This gal is so elegant, don't you think?  She is Susana Loves Stamps - Classic Eyes or you can buy her in the Eyes of Dreams set of 4 stamps with a bonus stamp.  I used Viva Decor Pearl Pen and the Viva Decor Glitter Liner to highlight her headdress.  I used those gorgeous elegant papers from the My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks pad and the sentiment is from the Paper Makeup Little Moments Mini set.  Lastly, I finished it off with embellishing with beads for the flower centres and a rich touch of Prima lace.

And do you like the layout?  I used my March-April sketch - if you want a chance to win a £15 voucher to the store, see all the deets here!

That's it from me - see you next week!

Zingy!

Hi all, Mary J here!  Pinch, punch, it's the first day of the month - I can't believe it's March already!  But hey, you're not here to listen to my waffle, so here's my card for today using more delicious Quixotic Paperie goodies!!

You just gotta love those Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamp!  This is Sylvia Zet's Wee Stamps Sweet Blossom matched up with Echo Park Sweet Summertime papers (currently 25% off!).  For the border I used my Sew Easy Tool with the Scallop Head and yellow floss.

For embellishment I used 4mm flat backed pearls and created some subtle bling with my Viva Decor Glitter Liner pen on the image and smeared on Make It Crafty Butterfly and Leaves lasercut chipboard.

Et voila!  A sweetie in the making!  And there is still plenty of time to join in with this month's Quixotic Inspirations sketch for a chance to win a £15 voucher - just link up your gorgossity here!

That's it from me today - see you next Thursday but don't forget to check out all the new goodies before you go!

New Baby Girl

Afternoon guys! Hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend! The Quixotic Design Team have got an exciting week in store for you this week with Quixotic's Birthday Celebrations kicking off! Keep your eyes peeled for lots of inspiring makes and spotlights!

Anyway I've popped on to show you this New Baby card that I've made with the stunning stamp by Whimsy designed by Crissy Armstrong called Proud Momma. It such a gorgeous image to colour and it's nice having something a bit different for a baby card I think! I used my copics to colour and also had a go with created a dotted background-good fun to do!

I've used the gorgeous Prima papers 'Melody' stack and used te same papers for the little flowers I punched out. I added some pearls to the centres using the Viva Decor pearl Pen in Ice White (re-stock coming soon).

That's it from me today! See you soon! Rowena

Gathering love again

Hello, Mary J here to share with you my current faves over at Quixotic Paperie!  Did you see the SCACD blog hop last Friday showcasing the new Natural Beauty Collection release by Carmen Medlin?  Wow, every single one really is beautiful!  I made a rather hot card for the hop (see here) and I wanted to try a more muted one...

I don't normally do shabby chic/vintage but I'm really enjoying experimenting with this style!  This is Gathering Love and Elaine has a special offer ending 27 May - if you buy four or more from this new collection, she will throw in a free stamp!  She will even throw in a free stamp if you buy the full set at the current special price of £29.99 (that's 25% off if you buy all the stamps individually!).

So I matched up this beautify with gorgeous papers from the paper pack Pixie by Memory Box and the creamy rich lace by Alencon lace by Prima.  I did the stitching using the Zig Zag piercer head with my Sew Easy Tool.

I also used the lasercut chipboard by Make It Crafty -  I can't believe the level of detail of this chipboard!  I first gave the chipboard a rough cover of gesso, then dabbed Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Antique Linen over it and lastly rubbed on Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Gold with my finger.  I finished them off with 4mm iridescent pearls in Hyacinth Lilac - here's a close up...

I likey this style!  I'm going to be doing more of this in the future!  That's it from me today - thanks for visiting!

Hello, it's Kim here...  hope you're having a fun week so far!
I wanted to stop by with a card I made using another of the fabulous images from the Victoria Case for SCACD new release!

There are two very different but equally fabulous styles of images available in Sweet Meets Sassy release...

I've used Victoria Case - Beach Bonita, She has been coloured with copics and the pearls in her hair were embellished using Viva Decor: Pearl Pen - Ice White. There is a wonderful Bonus Flourish stamp only available in the set... which I have stamped on the edges of the patterned paper strip. I've used Basic Grey - Curio - 6x6 Paper Pad throughout and embellished the scallop border with a few Flat Backed Pearls - 4mm - Cappucino.

You can grab all the stamps, either individually or in discounted sets (with bonus stamps) NOW at Quixotic Paperie! also if you have time pop over to see the....

Orange you a good friend!

Hello everyone!  It's Thursday so that means it's my time to show a card for Quixotic Inspirations.  This week I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Olivia Orange and the inside sentiment is from a Paper Makeup stamp set called Little Moments Mini Sentiments.

I'm also really pleased that Quixotic Paperie are now stocking my fave kraft cardstock - I love using this for my card bases.  I had a lot of fun colouring Olivia Orange in with my Copics - really great for practicing those shading skills - you can't help but do a good job with them!

I highlighted the pearls in her hair and the dress trims with my Sakura clear Stardust pen - just right for those teeny tiny areas!  In the close up below you can also see where I've used my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in cream.  As much as I love my flat backed pearls and gems, sometimes you just need something smaller and Viva Decors allow you to control whatever size you want.  I gotta experiment more with them!

Okay, that's it for me today - see you next week with my very first tutorial!
