Even big girls need bedtime stories!

Hi there - it's Mary J here to show you a card I made using Susana Loves Stamps one of the new recent releases available in the Quixotic Paperie store...

Isn't she beautiful?  This is Courageous Eyes who I stamped on to my favourite Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured in with my Copic Markers.  For interest I used Make It Crafty Butterfly Leaves and Fancy Ribbon Sliders laser cut chipboard and also the flourish die cut using my MFT Die-Namics Vintage Flourish. 

I coloured the elements in using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Markers in Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick and Black Soot.  I also used these pens to colour the seam binding ribbon and scrunched it up for more texture.  If you look carefully, you can just about see in the photo below that I gave the elements some sheen by colouring on and then rubbing in Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Stardust Pen...

Something a lot different from me!

Hello, it's Mary J here, enjoying our current sunny weather in the UK - I hope you are having some sun wherever you are too!  But back to my project that I want to share with you today.  Those who know me, know that I like to make cards - sometimes venturing to a tag! - but today I have something very different to share...what do you think...

I am really pleased with how my shadow box turned out!  I used the new Make It Crafty Shadow Box in the square frame - it was so easy to put together using a strong glue.  I coloured in the gorgeous Make It Crafty Adele again but this time with brown hair and matched her up with papers from My Minds Eye Indie Chic Ginger papers.  For the embellishing I used the new SCACD dies Classic Corners and Nature's Tapestry Fan.  For the lettering, I die cut these using Tim Holtz Grunge papers and simply inked them up.

Hi ladies, today I have this card to share and this beauty is one of the new Make it Crafty images, Elven Ardella, available at Quixotic Paperie. I just loooooooooove those wings and the hair!

The flowers are made using a Tim Holtz die. No patterned papers this time, I received these papers a few months ago when I visited a hobbymarket here in Holland.

BOO!

Mary J here with another Halloween make using Quixotic Paperie gorgossity!  Instead of the sassy Make It Crafty Witchy Wanda, this time I've made a card for a child at Halloween...

Not at all scarey!  Isn't she delightful?  This is Elisabeth Bell for SCACD called Pumpkin Patch.  I used papers from My Minds Eye Mischevious (not much of this left now!) with Bazzill Smoothie kraft cardstock with lots of distressing and inking using Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Stain and Ranger Archival Jet Black ink pad on the chipboard letters.

Sweetness alert!

Mary J here!  Have you seen the new Elizabeth Bell The Peekers #2 release for SCACD yet?  They are as sweet as all of her releases this year!  For my Quixotic Inspirations make today, I have used this little cutie...

 

 

This is Mama's Purse - obviously looking for cash for crafty stash!  I matched her up with BasicGrey Green At Heart papers and a sentiment from Whimsy's Ticket Sentiments Set, die cut with the matching Whimsy Shapeology Ticket die.  And take a closer look at the flowers...

Don't you think the darker ones look like suede?!  I think they are fab!  I used the uber easy to use Marianne D Creatables Chinese Rose dies made with Tim Holtz Grunge Paper, coloured with Distress Stains finished off with pearl beads.

I am so pleased with how this turned out it must have been one of the quickest cards to make and loving all the colours from these Crate papers. I totally adore Horton hears a who film...  which is the reason for buying this fantastic Artistic Outpost - Think & Wonder stamp set. Featuring quotes from Dr. Seuss... A person's a person, no matter how small. Just love it!!! The Pink Paislee - Artisan Elements - Swirls I have coloured using Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Weathered Wood, I blasted it with my heat gun and it dried on very nicely!

The faux Stitching was created using the WRMK sew easy and a black fine liner for the stitches. Now I'm admiring the new sew easy heads available.... yum and check out the

Gathering love again

Hello, Mary J here to share with you my current faves over at Quixotic Paperie!  Did you see the SCACD blog hop last Friday showcasing the new Natural Beauty Collection release by Carmen Medlin?  Wow, every single one really is beautiful!  I made a rather hot card for the hop (see here) and I wanted to try a more muted one...

I don't normally do shabby chic/vintage but I'm really enjoying experimenting with this style!  This is Gathering Love and Elaine has a special offer ending 27 May - if you buy four or more from this new collection, she will throw in a free stamp!  She will even throw in a free stamp if you buy the full set at the current special price of £29.99 (that's 25% off if you buy all the stamps individually!).

So I matched up this beautify with gorgeous papers from the paper pack Pixie by Memory Box and the creamy rich lace by Alencon lace by Prima.  I did the stitching using the Zig Zag piercer head with my Sew Easy Tool.

I also used the lasercut chipboard by Make It Crafty -  I can't believe the level of detail of this chipboard!  I first gave the chipboard a rough cover of gesso, then dabbed Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Antique Linen over it and lastly rubbed on Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Gold with my finger.  I finished them off with 4mm iridescent pearls in Hyacinth Lilac - here's a close up...

I likey this style!  I'm going to be doing more of this in the future!  That's it from me today - thanks for visiting!

Austen and Gorjuss

Hi guys! Hope you've had a lovely start to the week! Just wanted to pop along and show what I've been upto over the past week! Apart from watching the Royal Wedding and enjoying the Bank Holidays that is;)

I made a card with a new Gorjuss girlie, specifically Puddles of Love-isn't she just so sweet! Digged out my fave Tim Holtz papers and coloured her onto kraft-which Elaine now stocks here.

Also had a play with the beautiful new Artistic Outpost stamps-this time Janes' Countryside and made a really simple but effective card, with some Basic Grey paper which was stitched and some inking:)

Twinkle Twinkle

Evening! Bit late today but Picasa has not been my friend at all today:( Anyway here I am with a make featuring one of my fave lines from Quixotic Paperie-Paper Make-Up Stamps-along with fab character stamps from Monsters to Fairies they do some awesome Sentiments and just some really versatile images so if you've not discovered them yet you're in for a treat!

Today I've used this lovely sentiment which says, "We can't all be stars but we can twinkle". Love it! You can snag it here. The sentiments make such a lovely feature on a card I think!

I also dug out my Tim Holtz papers-Vintage Shabby-they're such a pretty pack! I stitched all the edges and distressed the edges and then went mad with some Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Silver around all the edges of the paper. And also a bit of Prima Say it in Crystals.
