Elaine here, dropping in with a card and some store updates for you!

If you follow the Quixotic Paperie Facebook page or receive the store newsletter you may be aware that I am taking a break from the distractions of Facebook for the whole of September (and possibly longer if I find it really helpful ;) ). As such, there will be no updates to our Facebook page this month. This blog, my personal blog and the store newsletter will be the best places to get all the latest updates and inspiration! I'll be joining the fabulous Delphine here on the store blog more regularly.

If you aren't currently subscribed to the store newsletter, you can sign up HERE. I try not to send newsletters too frequently, so you won't be spammed!

Fire

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! Have you all taken advantage of the Storewide Sale? 20% off EVERYTHING until May 5th at midnight! Everything!

For my make today, I chose one of the new SCACD stamps from the Elements Collection (20% off too!) which I love so much and decided to try a different look.

This gorgeous stamp is Fire and I stamped her with white ink on black paper. I coloured my image using Polychromos, leaving most of the white lines visible because that was the idea - there are only a few lines on the face and eyes that I covered.

Fire is available as a single rubber stamp or as part of the Elements collection with includes 4 stamps and their accessories. Below are 2 examples of other cards I shared recently using Water...

and Earth...

You can find all the SCACD Rubber Stamps HERE at Quixotic Paperie - and US readers can find them at SCACD too! Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely Sunday! Hugs,
Delphine xx

The most recent release brought us the stunning "Elements" girls, a collection of four beautiful female portrait stamps with a twist.

For those of you with a taste for the cute and cuddly, you may not be aware that amongst the offerings from SCACD are a selection of adorable stamps designed by Sylvia Zet of Wee Stamps! These are only available in rubber.

The Montage release comprising Montage Set 1 and Montage Set 2, is a fun mix of images, and the SCACD designers have clearly had a blast creating with them. One of my favourites is Kathi Rerek's fish fossil card below.

SCACD Mixed Media Water fun!

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday and Happy Easter!
I have been playing with the new SCACD Elements Collection, a collection of four stamps I am in love with! They come as a collection of four, but Water, Fire, Wind and Earth can be bought individually too. They can simply be coloured and used on cards and are also great to play and be a bit "artistic" if you fancy too! I have wanted to try new things for some time and have been very inspired by Elaine's amazing art, and the gorgeous SCACD Water seemed like the perfect stamp for what I had in mind.

I stamped SCACD Water in Versafine Majestic Blue Ink onto watercolour paper and started by watercolouring the background. Then I coloured my whole image using Faber-Castell Polychromos and added a bit of Pitt pen around my image. Next I tried to add some texture to my background, so I stamped text in Versafine Majestic Blue Ink, then dots in Colorbox White Ink, and then various circles in blue, white, and using a gold Pitt pen. At last, I wrote "believe" and "dream" and added gold with my Pitt pen on the borders of my card.

You can find all the SCACD Rubber Stamps HERE at Quixotic Paperie - and US readers can find them at SCACD too! Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely Easter weekend! Hugs,
Delphine xx

Fly with SCACD Stamps

I hope you're having a good weekend so far!

Today I'd like to share a little SCACD Stamps inspiration. I do love their mixed media style stamps, they are so versatile and work in a variety of styles, whether you like to art journal, create cards, tags or other projects.

I created a quick tag featuring a couple of the stamps from the Susana Loves Stamps range.  The gorgeous female silhouette is available either as part of the full Blank Canvas Collection #1 set or in the smaller Blank Canvas Women set. The wings are available in the Blank Canvas Wings set.

I stamped both the woman and wings using Versamark ink on white cardstock and embossed using different embossing powders before cutting them out to layer on my tag. The lettering was created using an alphabet stamp set from my stash. I created the tag background using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and stencils.

That's it from me. Stop by tomorrow as I'm sure Delphine will have something beautiful to inspire you with!

Year of The Horse with SCACD Stamps

Happy Friday!

Today I'd like to share a fun card with you, featuring some stamps from one of my favourite companies - SCACD Stamps.

I used a stamp which was released late last year - SCACD Stamps - Eastern Dreams - Peaceful Warrior (also available as part of the Eastern Dreams stamp set). Absolutely love this stamp, in fact all of the "Mechanimals" Steampunk animals stamps are favourites of mine, they are so much fun to play with.

I stamped Peaceful Warrior on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Touch Twin markers.

I also used a stamp set from the January 2014 "Montage" release, which is a collection of fun elements stamps. This card features Eastern Lanterns, available as a small set or as part of the full Montage Set #1 sheet. I stamped the lanterns with red ink on vellum before cutting them out and placing on my background. I then drew the string freehand with a fine-liner.

The background was created with inks and a Dreamweaver stencil.

Hope you have a great weekend!  Make sure you stop by on Sunday to check out Delphine's latest card, it is bound to be gorgeous!

Blank Canvas...

Hi! Sandie here today with something a little different from my 'norm'. I recently signed up to participate in a mixed media circle journal and so I tried my hand at making a mixed media canvas.

The stamp I've featured is from Susana Loves Stamps' NEW mixed media release, Blank Canvas, and this one is called Flights of Botanica. She has been stamped out using Adirondack paint.

For the background I used 4 different colour sprays (Glimmer Mist & Dylusions). Then I layered on a white doily, which I painted over, and stamped out my sentiment. I added some Prima washi tape and a metal charm tied with button floss. I cut the butterfly out from some Prima paper and coated it with glossy accents. To finish I doodled on some stitching.

Oddly Sweet... twice

Hello everyone! It's Delphine here today to share two little cards featuring two adorable SCACD monsters from the Susana Loves Stamps Oddly Sweet range, which are just perfect for cute quick CAS cards...

This one is called Moments and comes with the sentiment. I stamped on Make It Colour Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured my image with Copics. And as you can see, I simply added a punched border (Fiskars punch).
Using exactly the same layout, but this time colouring with my Polychromos on a coloured paper, I made a second card...

This one is called The Thinker, and also comes with the sentiment. And there are many more monsters, which you can find in the store... and also the new Susana Loves stamps Mixed Media Release! To see them all, follow the link HERE!
Thank you very much for your visit, have a lovely Sunday! Hugs

Lara Croft wannabe!

Hello there, it's Mary J here with a card for a very good friend of mine.  Her secret dream is to be Lara Croft - yes, the game character!  I thought the SCACD Susana Loves Stamps Adventure Eye would be perfect for her!

I stamped this gorgeous girl onto Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured with my Copics.  For the background I used the new Impression Obsession Cover a Card Leopard that I also stamped onto Make It Colour Blending Card then I coloured the inside of the leopard spots with my Copics and inked up the edges to distress it.  I also used the MFT Die-Namics - At The Movies die and stamp set along with the Mini Film Strip die and one of the arrows from the Lead the Way dies

I really liked how this card came out - I hope you do too!  I'm off now so I'll see you next week with another project!
