Kenny K - Queen's Cutie

Good afternoon!!

My week has just flown by without a minute to post this. So without further ado...I'd like to present 'Queen's Cutie'. Isn't she adorable! She is available in rubber at Quixotic Paperie. The image is coloured with a mixture of copics and prismas. I used some [prismas to deepen the shading in her hair . A touch of deep brown at the roots.  I also used prismas to create the blended sky background, which always looks very faint after being photographed!

I have used the most gorgeous papers from MME called Paris and Co. Gorgeous shades of brown and muted turquoise!!

This is a quick picture of the inside. A rare occasion...I don't always have time to finish these before I post on the blog. The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps.

I also want to remind you that Quixotic Paperie will be on holiday for a well earned break from 27th August to 8th of September.

Here at Quixotic Paperie we’ve decided to have a little fun and shake things up a bit! What better way than with a Design Team call?!

We are looking for designers who would like to commit to an initial six month term with Quixotic Paperie’s existing team, to help promote products available at the Quixotic Paperie online store.  If you're not familiar with the products we stock, take a look and check out the stamp companies and other products you could be working with!

  • A link to your blog and any online galleries you upload your cards to.
  • Photos of your three most favourite personal creations.

The Greeting Farm- Oliver

Hello everyone!

Today I am following a trend :)) Now all over blogland and Facebook groups there has been a new trend starting!! And I just had to give it a try . Talented crafters on the Make It Crafty Facebook Group have been colouring their stamped images with no black lines....and instead using evry faint grey ones.

So I had to see if it was as hard as it looked ...I do like a challenge!!

So for my Quixotic Paperie DT card this week  I stamped an image from The Greeting Farm which I have had for ages but it has not seen any love as yet!  This one is Oliver from the 'Journey Set'. He is coloured with copics and a little amount of pencil for the sky background.  I used (as recommended by Elaine) an Adrionack Ink Pad 'Lake Mist' to get the light grey lines on the image. Once coloured it creates a really nice soft, pastel effect on the image. This is a technique I would love to try again and perfect a little more .

The papers I used are Fancy Pants 'Beach Bum' 6 x6 pad. I have given them all the distressed treatment. I have also used a Tim Holtz journalling ticket and a Tim Holtz Metal Hinge Clip.

Before I go have you checked out the fabulous and quirky new stamps from Octopode??? A few have sneaked into my basket!

Thanks for popping by today!

Taking it slowly...

Well, not me personally - this week has flown by, it's been manic!!  Anyhoo, Mary J here and the title of my post refers to this little cutie using lots of lovely Quixotic Paperie stash!

Isn't he a sweetie?  This is one of the new Emerald Faeries called Boo & Snookie (aren't they the best names ever?!!).  I used my Sew Easy Tool with the Zig Zag Piercer Head and finished it off with flowers using the Marianne D creatables Chinese Rose dies and beadsQuixotic Paperie has run out of the brown felt ribbon, but you can buy it in other colours here.

I used the Prima Madelaine paper that is unfortunately out of stock now, but there are a host of gorgeous Prima pads in including the latest arrivals which came today here!

Before I go, here is a list of my most fave of the newly arrived goodies!

Mushroom hugger!

Mary J here for a quick post on this week's faves at Quixotic Paperie - EMERALD FAERIES! I am in luuuuurve these gorgeous stamps!  Here's what I made using Ebony....

How beautiful is this stamp?!!  I matched her up with papers from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl, embellished with rolled flowers with pearl bead centres and that luscious Prima lace! To add some more interest, I used my Sew Easy Stitcher Tool with the Sew Easy Burst Piercer Head - I love it!  The sentiment is from Whimsy's Ticket Sentiment Set and Shapeology Ticket die.  I've left the inside blank for my own personal message (hopefully it will say "thank you for ALL my birthday presents on 25 August" (you get the hint, right?!!).

Okay, that is it from me today!  Back soon with another EMERALD FAERIES beauty!

Trying out something new

I have been meaning to try and colour with pencils on black cardstock before and finally got around to it! The result is ... interesting. The jury is still out if I like it or not.
I stamped Whimsy Star by Kenny K in white ink on black cardstock and coloured her is mixture of different pencils, basically just testing various brands: Faber-castell Polychromos, Derwent Inktense and Prismacolor. If I were to do it again, I'd use Prismacolour only, mainly because they gave the most opaque result.
I used papers From Echo Park For The Record pad and Crate Portrait pad. That lush butterfly swirl is a chipboard from Make It Crafty. I did a lot of random dotting with Viva gloss gel in Sunny Yellow and Walnut Brown.

Film marker sentiment is from a brand new Whimsy set and I cut it out with a matching die.
I hope I might have given you an idea for something new to try out!

Don't forget to check out Quixotic Paperie shop for a summer sale and lots of new goodies! :)

Thanks for popping by!
